“I was truly impressed by how wonderful the students all looked on stage! The costumes were fabulous and I was amazed at how well the kids knew their lines and where they were supposed to be when! It’s inspiring seeing the high standards Center Stage expects from their students, both on and off stage, and then witnessing firsthand how the children rise to meet their expectations!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you communicate with parents?

We communicate important information with our families through e-mail, texts, Facebook, up-to-date member info on our webpage, handouts and signs posted around the studio. Please feel free to e-mail, call, text or stop by the front desk with any questions.

Is there a dance recital fee?

No! Center Stage does not charge a recital fee. And, as an extra added bonus to show how much we appreciate our studio families, we give each family a FREE recording of the recital! Click here for more details about our annual spring recital.

How do I know if classes will be cancelled due to weather?

In the event of inclement weather, an email, text and social media post will be made by 2pm (8am for morning classes) if in-studio classes must be cancelled. Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared by the time studio classes begin.  Any cancelled classes may be made up in our regular schedule of in-studio and on-line classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement opportunity will be scheduled.

Will my child get to participate in a recital or other performance opportunities?

Yes! We have many performance opportunities for ALL of our students at Center Stage! Whether your child is involved in dance, music or theatre, we want them to have their chance to shine!

  • Our music department has a fall, spring & summer recital, as well as the option for students to prepare for and compete in the National Federation Music Festival each spring.

  • Our theatre department has productions throughout the year for our theatre class students to perform in. The theatre department also produces a full scale, Broadway-style, professionally executed Summer Production that is open for all kids ages 7-18 to audition for each summer!

  • Every Center Stage dancer is featured in our fabulous spring dance recital! Our ballet students also have the opportunity to perform in our annual production of The Nutcracker.

Specific details on our Company and Performance Groups can be found here.

You've got questions...we've got answers!

Have questions? Not sure which class is right for you? Curious as to what you’ll need to wear to a dance class or bring with you to a music lesson? Don’t worry! You are not alone! Below are answers to several frequently asked questions and if you don’t see the question you’re looking for, please give us a call or stop by the front desk and we will be happy to help you personally!

If I have to miss a class, can I make it up?

In group classes (dance or theatre) a student is always welcome to make up a missed class in a comparable level! This is a great chance to try something new! Just ask the front desk staff to help you find a class to attend! For our private music lessons, Center Stage offers unlimited group make-up lessons due to student absences. We request a call to the front desk if you know you will be unable to attend your lesson. Private make-ups are given only for teacher absences. A group make-up calendar is available at the front desk. Pre-registration in the make-up classes is required. Student absences will not be rescheduled or refunded, however you will receive material to work on via LessonMate to prepare for your next lesson.

Can my child observe or try a class before registering?

Absolutely! We encourage students who might be unsure or shy about a class to come and observe or experience first hand. Just give us a call to let us know which class you would like to try before coming in. Some students need some time to adjust to a class- if your child doesn't seem to want to participate, try observing for a couple weeks and soon enough they will feel comfortable enough to join!

How do I know which class will be the best fit for my child? There are so many to choose from!

Let our experienced office staff help you determine which class is the best fit for your child’s interests and personality! Feel free to give us a call or stop in to discuss teachers and classes. We also provide a progess report or teacher recommendation form at the end of the year to give you an idea of what your child showed interest and promise in.

Do you do dance recitals? What can I expect?

YES! When we say dance recital at Center Stage, what we mean is a HIGHLY ORGANIZED, AMAZING, FULL-SCALE DANCE PRODUCTION complete with sets, lighting and excitement. We want every child to experience the thrill of performing on stage in a professional setting and every parent to look forward to the show.
