STAGING REHEARSALS

 

Who has Staging Rehearsals? 

• All performers (EXCEPT Creative Movement and Precombo I & II) will have staging rehearsals prior to the recital!

 

What are Staging Rehearsals? 

• Staging rehearsals provide the dancers and teachers an important opportunity to set everyone in their correct places on stage, run through the routine with the music, and start and stop as needed to fix different areas while rehearsing.  This is different from the dress rehearsal where the goal is to run through the entire performance with as few interruptions as possible. 

 

When & Where are they? 

• Staging rehearsals will be Monday, May 30- Wednesday, June 1. During this week, there will be NO REGULARLY SCHEDULED CLASSES at Center Stage. All dancers should report to HENDRICKS HALL on the UCM Campus at their scheduled staging rehearsal time and ONLY at this specific time. Please arrive early to these rehearsals and be ready to dance at your appointed time as each class has a very limited amount of time. The rehearsals are scheduled in sections so that several routines come at the same time allowing us to rehearse transitions. 

 

You do NOT need to wear your costumes to staging rehearsals but DO need your dance shoes. 

 

 

 

 

DRESS REHEARSALS

 

Who has Dress Rehearsals? 

• All performers- including Daddy & Me Dancers- will have a dress rehearsal prior to the recital!

 

What are Dress Rehearsals? 

• Dress rehearsal is a time for all students to rehearse all of their numbers in all pieces of their costumes. Dress rehearsal is also the time to practice make-up and hair so you are familiar with how you are going to do it for the actual performance. This is especially important if you have any special hairstyles or quick hair changes. This will also help you to know what you are supposed to do with any hairpieces that may be a part of your costume. 

 

When & Where are they? 

• Dress rehearsals will be at Hendricks Hall. Dress rehearsal is MANDATORY. That is, if you do not attend dress rehearsal, you cannot perform in the recital. We enforce this strict policy for the confidence and safety of the performers. It is crucial that every student rehearse on the stage before performing and know exactly where he or she needs to be at all times.

  • Matinee Dress Rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st at 5:00 pm. 

  • Dress Rehearsal for evening shows will be Thursday, June 2nd at 5:00 pm.
